WHERE-TO-START

Introduction to this blog

I came from a small town and a lovely family.  We were all living our best lives when things starting to change,  the country was experiencing criminal gangs and violence.  On or about 2010, the crime rates were at the highest and in some point the decision of moving out appeared to be the best.  Therefore, my mother, sister, and I put years of life and memories into a carry-on luggage and took a flight to the big city of Los Angeles. Once we were in Los Angeles, we faced the question: Now what? What do we do here? We all had professional backgrounds, my mother was a register nurse, my sister was a civil engineer and I was an attorney in El Salvador.  We faced the uncertainty of not knowing if we could use our educational backgrounds and experience in any possible way.  Long story short, in one way or another, we were all able to use our previous educational backgrounds and knowledge.  If you are facing this same situation, welcome to this site!

This is created to provide tools and information as to how to use educational background and work experience to eventually make a career and enjoy the adaptation process in the U.S.
